»I don't like the fact that, many businesses join the Chamber of Commerce yet are never at the Monthly luncheon or mixers. They just join to help their business. My idea is that within a 12 month period businesses that are in the Chamber attend 5 luncheons and 5 mixers. If they fail to do that, their Chamber of Commerce Member sign must not be displayed in their business or be relinquished.
»It would be nice if we had showers for rinsing off sand and drinking fountains at the parks.
»We need to have more restrictions placed on residents who do not pay their POA dues. Currently, the only restriction I know about is that past due residents cannot get new stickers on their cars for entry, but they can still call in guests (and themselves) and use their ID card for access. They should not be able to call people in the gate or use facilities like the pool and lodge. It is unfair that residents who don't pay their dues still get to use the ammenities that they aren't even paying for.
»It's very disappointing that the center median on Railroad Canyon isn't maintained. The weeds are about two feet tall, the grass hasn't been mowed or watered, theres trash everywhere. The lights (which I'm sure weren't cheap) that are supposed to point up to the palm trees are all broken. I'm hoping it will all be refreshed when all the "construction" is finished, but it's just ugly and embarrassing. The Canyon Lake "a private community" waterfall sign should also be updated. At LEAST replace the tacky tile.
»It is only going to get worse if LEUSD stops providing buses for the schools - there will be more parents driving to and from the schools to drop off their kids and we will have everyone coming and going to school/work at the same time!
»I wish that there were more jobs in the City and POA. When I notice a job is available they want experience. I have been home for 22 years raising my 3 children, 2 of which are disabled. I dont have experience but what I do have is a willingness to work. I would very much like to work for the City of Canyon Lake or the POA. I am a quick study , reliable and dependable and ready to work. I hope people who see this and are hiring would please reconsider asking for people with experience.
»A wonderful idea. Perhaps a volunteer group could be formed to sponsor the banners.
»Problem: Where would we put it? The City doesn't own any large properties. How much space do they need? There is one large privately owned property (adjacent to the storage area - already zoned for mixed use)but it is hilly. Sell it for low-income housing? Actually, we are required by the state to have some low-income housing. After Lucas was done, the property could be converted to much needed senior housing.
»I do not like the new menu at the Country Club or the way the Country Club and the Lodge are being run. They completely changed the menu and the prices are ridiculous.
»Start a loyalty program with all the merchants. I know of a loyalty program that actually benefits the shoppers and the merchants! I'd love to share this with all the Canyon Lake Merchants. Please contact me. Franco Pepe
»Include quarterly invitations for non residents to join in on the fun, and consider the possibility of moving to this great community.
»I love the dog park idea as well. If not there, at least somewhere. Most people in Canyon Lake have dogs and you see them walking them all the time. That would be a great place to have it, or in one of the not so widely used park areas off CLDS.
»Have the Youth, Create videos and create their own youth groups related to positive things in this community. empower them and let them create a power positive voice in this community. After all they live here, and it's their community after all isn't it. Or is being a kid in canyon lake a bad thing? there are plenty of signs around this community telling them what not to do....None guiding them in the right direction...Negative signs NO this NO that, Instead of Skateboarding area location, Dog park Location, if you don't give people a place to play.....then they become the anti society ...and nothing good comes from that.
»We are in the Middle of Riverside California, Crime outside the gates is real, the stuff inside the gates is mostly bored kids. graffiti, breaking things, and a few Rentals that let people into the gates that decided to do drugs, and rob their neighbors. All that is easy to fix. The real crime is the Over policing of the community by the POA/Barton Patrols. Sure this is a Party lake Community, and no its not the RIver, People do live here, and demand respect from their Neighbors and people visiting our Lake. Simple, if your actions are disrupting the people who live here, well then we have a problem....Agreed?
»Community is what it is all about...the more events the better. A universal event Calendar for the Community and its surrounding events would benefit everyone. Knowing what's going on is Half the Battle.
